Game Plan of the Week: Week 9

I missed posting last week, and struggled to keep on track. It is important for me to get this post out to help hold me accountable through the week.  I can hardly believe it is the last week in July.  How did that happen?


What I ate this week…more of the same summer eats!  I am in the habit of making the same things and it’s hard to break the routine. We still subscribe to Home Chef, and that makes meal prep easy too!

I am obsessed with having a oatmeal for breakfast.

Sirloin steak, green beans, and blue cheese mashed cauliflower from Home Chef.  Yum!

Another Home Chef favorite from last week was this chicken flatbread pizza.

I plan to up my water intake this week.  I don’t know why it’s so hard for me to drink enough water each day.  Here’s my plan, start with my 20oz Hydro Flask and then refill it throughout the day with the numbered water bottles.  I can reuse the bottles all week and having them numbered will hopefully help me be more mindful of my water intake.

At the end of the day, if I drink all of the water, I will consume almost 90oz.

Workout Plan

This is one area I am feeling good about!  I have been reading that diet is 80% and exercise 20% of weight loss.  Why can’t this be the other way around?  So far in July I have logged 90 miles of running and walking.  My goal is 100 miles!

I continue to meet up with a great running and workout crew in the mornings!  Many of the ladies are training for a half marathon, but I am still content running 3 miles at a time.  On Thursday we did a speed workout that nearly killed me, if there is one thing I am not…it’s speedy! It was a great challenge, and I need to do it again!

The evenings have been a mixture of walking outside and doing a video workout at home.

My plan for this week is to stay on track with both diet and exercise while we are away from home!  What are some things you do to maintain a healthy diet and get some exercise in when you travel?  I love to hear from you in the comments!

  1. Way to get your miles in! I am hoping to get in 50 running miles this month. I like what you did with the water bottles. Overnight oats are my favorite during the school year. I hope you have a great week ahead!

  2. 50 miles = Awesome! I think you’re on to something with overnight oats! The school year sure throw me a curveball when it comes to diet and exercise! Enjoy your week end!

  3. Ugh- I am so with you on the 80/20 reversal! I do such a great job working out and then throw it all out the window on vacation food. It’s not helping that we’re going to be gone for this week- I did pack my running clothes though! That pizza looked great- and mashed cauliflower looks awesome! Have a good week!
