Game Plan of the Week #4

Week Four

The first week of summer FLEW by…and oh how I enjoyed it! It was great to have a low key start summer and have time to really focus on my journey to a lifelong healthy lifestyle. Week 3 was so much better compared to Week 2!


This week I felt a lot more prepared in the diet department, taking time to plan and prep is key for me. I need to find a way to balance this during the school year. Any suggestions?

I mentioned in Friday Favorites this week that I found these Jimmy Dean turkey sausage links at Costco. Sausage and eggs were my go to breakfast all week!

For lunch I ate salads, salads, and more salads!  I am going to need to change the salad thing up a bit this week!  The cherry on top was an afternoon snack of yogurt.  I purchased a variety of different yogurts for the week, but this one was my favorite!  It is Oikos Orange Cream.  I mean really, orange cream…need I say more?  Don’t mind those chairs in the background!  I was cleaning my kitchen floors, and stopped for snack break, yummmmm!

I was not totally on my game for dinner this week.  We had a busy week with friends visiting and celebrating our 21st anniversary.  But, I did choose more healthy items when we were out!  That in itself is a win for me!  On the nights we were home I made our Home Chef meals.  We have been trying Home Chef the last few week and really enjoy both the convenience and meals.  For the most part they seem to be pretty healthy.

And then there’s water…I just can’t seem to get it all in!  I get busy and forget to drink water.  This week I plan to fill up my bottles of water in the morning and setting out to drink it ALL!

Workout Plan

I am really excited to report that I got in a workout, sometimes two every day this week!  It’s incredible how having someone to meet up with makes such a big difference and holds me accountable!  I mentioned this in Friday Favorites this week too!  

I also joined an online challenge to help hold myself accountable!  Taralynn at is hosting a 150 Mile June Walking Challenge.  The goal is to walk about 5 miles a day and by the end of June you’ll have 150 miles in. I joined up and am logging my daily miles on Instagram @jenonajourney.   It’s not too late, check it out and join up too!

I am still working through the 21 Day Fix videos.  I did switch it up this week and did the videos in the evenings since I am meeting up with friends to walk/run and workout in the early morning.  I do favor the yoga video, I am still experiencing a lot of soreness and yoga helps with that.

This week I plan to keep the same schedule!  Get up early and go, go, go!  I want to keep the momentum from last week and keep pushing forward.  I am so thankful to have the summer off so I can focus on my health and fitness!  What a blessing!
