Why is it that when I am teaching and the kids are in school the weeks can just drag on and when summer rolls around the days just fly by and in the blink of an eye another one has passed? We had a great week, I hope you did too! It’s Friday and that means it’s time to link up with Andrea, Erika and Narci to share a few of my favorites from the week!
Kisses from Katie was a favorite this week. Wow! This book is, to say the least, inspiring. Katie Davis (now Katie Majors) chronicles her journey as she passionately follows Jesus, moves to Uganda and impacts the lives of countless sweet Ugandan children. You. will.love.this.book. I highly recommend it!
On Tuesday, the fellas were going to the movie and I wasn’t really feeling it. Personally, I wanted a quiet evening at home! BUT…Ethan convinced me to go, and I am so glad he did. Wonder Woman…need I say more! This movie was an unexpected favorite for me this week! I love an origin story, and Wonder Woman did not disappoint. We watched it in the IMAX theater in 3-D!

Early morning hours are my favorite hours of the day! I have the best “morning spot” in our living room. I like to hunker down in my comfy chair, spend some quiet time with Jesus, read, and work on my to do list. These quiet mornings give me a chance to work on me and the person God wants me to be! #keepgettingbettereveryday
After about 20 minutes I usually have a visitor! #bubbathecat
He snuggles in for a little lap time, and I enjoy every minute! My morning is not complete without him. He loves to plant himself into the most inconvenient place and purr away.
This is what I am doing right now in my quiet time. I recently came across Chalene Johnson‘s 30-Day Challenge. I am loving this challenge. Each day is very purposeful, you map out your ambitions, goals, prioritize, and set your focus on where you want to be!
Jen on a Journey, was born during this time. It’s a work in progress, just like me!
Check it out! I think you will like it! Chalene is an amazing gal, with a heart for helping others.
My son’s soccer family is one of my favorite things! I love being a soccer mom, but the other mom’s put me to shame! This summer our high school team decided they wanted to travel to a team camp in Oregon. So, naturally our super soccer moms sprung into action and organized a successful fundraiser! They planned a BBQ at our small town brewery! The boys worked the crowd selling basket raffle tickets, pig raffle tickets, and 50/50 tickets. The dads ran the grill, the brewery served great beer, and live music played in the background! I love how supportive our community is of our kids! A huge thank you to all who came out to help these boys get to camp!
We Love Our Locomotive Soccer Fans!
Sally Hansen’s Cream of the Crop is my favorite summer nail polish! I have been using the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel polishes for about a year and love they way they wear. The polish goes on in a two-step process. First, the polish color and then the top coat to the seal the deal. Cream of the Crop is a great neutral shade, practically nude with a slight shimmer. Perfect for summer!
I hope everyone had a lovely week! I am looking forward to the weekend! This will be our first weekend in a loooooong time without soccer games, so it’s yard work and family time for us! Yay!
