What a week! I mean, really, what a week! This is our last week of school…and let me tell you I am more than excited that Friday has arrived! Today I am linking up with with Andrea, Erika and Narci to share a few of my favorites from this wild week!
I have been blessed this school year with wonderful kids! One of their favorite activities this week was a STEM challenge. I challenged my students to build a boat out of a variety of materials in a cooperative learning group. The boat had to hold a minimum of 10 marbles and be able to sail across the tub. They did an awesome job!
Love cooperative learning groups and STEM challenges!
This boat was the one of the most successful designs, holding 75 marbles!
The competition was tough, these three boats were neck-and-neck, so the kids were trying to see which boat would reign supreme!
I L.O.V.E. a good read aloud book! Each day I take a portion of our reading time and read aloud! I thoroughly enjoy this part of my day and so do my students. We wrapped up our last novel of the year this week, Hoot by Carl Hiassen. This is a wonderful read aloud! Each day my kids would beg me to keep reading and on Tuesday when we finished they all clapped and cheered!
Check it out here! Hoot by Carl Hiassen
Then on Wednesday we watched the movie! Another home run! The kids brought in blankets, pillows, and breakfast! They ate their breakfast while completely engaged in the 90 minute film! I wish I would have snapped a few pics, but I was having fun right along with them!
I blogged about my favorite place and a trip close to my heart!
Yellowstone Park and Disney World/Universal Studios!
On Wednesday I was spent, and ready for a relaxing evening. We decided to go to a local craft distillery, Trailhead Spirits. It is one of my favorite places!
Every Wednesday they have Moscow Mules on special! Yum!
One of their featured cocktails happened to be a Tangerine Mule. Yes, please!
I am soooo looking forward to the weekend! Not only is it the first official weekend of summer, but I get to play of my absolute favorite roles – Soccer Mom! You will find me on the sideline soaking in the sun and cheering on Ethan and his team! Go Storm!
Love watching this kid!
